Don't let Ken Calvert buy this election!A report from the non-partisan Rose Institute at Claremont McKenna College says what we already knew – the only thing Ken Calvert has going for him is the ability to raise money from his wealthy Washington friends. The Rose Report states “if Calvert…uses his money to discredit Hedrick early in the cycle (unlike being surprised by him in 2008), Calvert will likely run a strong campaign.” Do not let Ken Calvert buy this election. We need your help! We are an area in crisis. Families are hurting and need real leadership they can trust. This election should be about the issues we share and solutions to the problems we all face – not about any negative attack ads Ken Calvert will purchase with his special interest money. Mr. Calvert is on the wrong side of too many issues important to our area, and to California as a whole. He continues to fight against real health care reform when 19.2% of the people living in the 44th are uninsured, he has voted against money that would allow more young people to access college, and has pushed for housing legislation designed to ‘soak up inventory’ rather than help keep families in their homes. I support real health care reform that includes a public option, providing resources so that every able student can go to college regardless of their family’s income, and exploring every option to prevent more families from losing their American Dream. But I need your help. We cannot get the leadership we need without the necessary resources to get our campaign message out to voters. We cannot beat Mr. Calvert if we allow him to say and do whatever he wants unchecked! Contribute today and make sure we have a fighting chance to tell voters our side of the story.
