Bill Hedrick for Congress

Convention Update

4/17/10 Good evening!

Great day. Passed out all our oranges - had to go buy more! It's our new identity amongst the CA Democrats. We say "Bill Hedrick" and they say "Oh, the orange guy!" We've certainly made an impact :-D Special thanks to the College Dems and Bruin Democrats for all their help is passing out oranges and signing up new supporters this weekend!

Bill spoke at some of the different caucuses today - labor and progressive were two of them. Here's Bill speaking at the Labor Caucus to fellow union members from all over CA, including guest speaker AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.

Bill speaking at Labor Caucus

Bill did an interview with a local reporter for Charter Cable, so keep an eye out at home for the footage.

Best story of the day, which I've titled: I Threw an Orange and Jerry Brown. One of our volunteers, who I'll just call Z, was passing out/tossing out oranges to passers-by. Attorney General Jerry Brown walked by, and Z shouted "Jerry Brown, want an orange?" Jerry held up a hand (we think to wave) but after a day's worth of people holding up their hand to catch the oranges, Z went with automatic impulse and threw an orange a Jerry Brown. Luckily for all involved, Jerry caught the orange one handed, gave it a quick toss in his hand as if to test the weight, then threw it back to Z. No charges of assault with a drive-by orange were filed lol.

PDA meeting tomorrow morning before we pack up the booth. Good day today.

Good morning!

Looking forward to a busy day of meetings, caucuses, and talking to Democrats from across the state.

Bill's meeting with bloggers at 1pm in Platinum B for a quick Q&A session. He will be attending (and hopefully speaking) at a few of the different caucuses today, and will be at or near the booth talking to supporters.

Should be fun!

Hedrick booth at CA Dem Convention in LA

4/16/10 ##Convention Off to a Great Start##

Greetings Team Hedrick!

First, some great news! We have just received endorsements from the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and the Council for a Livable World's Peace PAC. Both are great organizations and we are so excited, proud, and humbled to have earned their support.

The CA Dem Convention is just minutes underway - and already we're off to an amazing start!

Our booth looks awesome (pictures coming soon) and we've already talked to a lot of people who are ready to do what it take to get Bill elected (offering them a Hedrick orange picked from the groves of the 44th, we have discovered, helps expedite this process :-D).

If you're at convention this weekend, come find us. New Hedrick T-shirts are available :-D And we have plenty of oranges so that everyone from across California can get a taste of the 44th!

If you can't be at the convention, I'll be doing my best to keep you updated on the goings on here related to our campaign. Check back here at our website throughout the weekend. I'll do my best to keep you updated with news, stories, and pictures.

Hope to see some of you this weekend!

Cheers!

Katie
