Earth Day Message from BillApril 22 marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. It is estimated that one billion people across 190 countries, will mark the day in some way. Significant strides have been made to restore our environment through initiatives such as the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. However, the future of our children and grandchildren hangs precariously in the balance, and serious unfinished work must be completed. Paramount on the agenda is the issue of global warming. It is within our ability to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but will we have the political courage to do so? I am an optimist by nature. I will fight in Congress to preserve our planet through clean energy initiatives and stronger legislation to protect our air and water. Moreover, t is time to aggressively use tax policy to encourage the powerful combination of American entrepreneurs and American researchers to invent and invest in technologies that today are unimagined. It is past time to stimulate the best minds and kindle the dreamers! On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, let us recommit ourselves to action—in Congress and in our communities. We have a future to build. We have a world to safeguard! Posted on April 22, 2010.

Bill Hedrick has spent his entire adult life teaching our children, advocating for teachers, and managing our schools. For over twenty years, he's served our community on the Corona-Norco school board. He and Beth have raised five children in our community - including two who have served in Iraq.
Bill's always demanded accountability in our schools - and it's time to demand accountability from Washington, D.C. In Congress, Bill Hedrick will fight to save and create jobs, cut government waste, invest in our infrastructure, and ensure our children have opportunities to succeed.
